Hi I am not having success with clonidine hot flushes have returned with a vengeance . I have been taking it for nearly 6 weeks and increased dose to 2 tabs at night. For those who have had success with clonidine how long did it take and at what dosage please?
otherwise, I reckon it's back to Livial ! I had great success with it.
I only changed as the cost of Livial in Australia is getting very expensive currently 59 dollars a pack that lasts 28 days!

Hi Jenny,l've been taken off HRT & advised to take Clonidine for hot flushes & night sweats, taken 3 months & dose increased to 3 before symptoms improved. Now taken 8 months....& symptoms back. !!
I want to return to HRT....BUT as lm 63 Gp doesn't want me to....despite the fact l have osteoporosis.....& with a family history of this,(my Mother shrunk by 5 inches & had hot flushes for everyone )
Compromised....had bone scan / blood test bone profile & awaiting review
I don't want to be like my Mother surely medicine has improved ,to stop these problems. Help !!!

sometimes changing is not as good an idea as it seemed at the time.
I am not sure if you have heard of Jean Hailles I had not but my GP gave me her name to read some of her articles on menopause and treatments.
i am lucky my GP whilst not discounting previous evidence believes more recent evidence is not conclusive about HRT.
so willing to work to get me happy again and he is male!!!

Hi
I'm still not happy on livial night sweats are back god knows when I will see my gynaecologyist as was supposed to be 3 months review it's been 7 months and still waiting I'm feeling OK in myself but if the sweats went I'd be even happier so got an appointment to see my Dr again as when I saw him in January he wouldn't change my hrt so I'm seeing a different Dr who runs a lady clinic and see what he says ...why should we take something that's not working ... good luck keep me informed how you get on x
