TREMORS

My 40 year old husband has been suffering with tremors for the past 8 months. His first symptoms started with tremors in his whole upper body including his head. He felt a vibrating, electrical feeling through out his body.    My husband could not even fall a sleep because it gradually got worse.  This condition has made it very difficult to fall a sleep.  He describes it as an electrical shock that makes him jump. It's so bad that he could not sleep for days.  He has tried taking Xanax but it doesnt relieve symptoms. The worse part of this situation is that he is incarcerated and they don't provide help. The doctors in the institution dont give him the help he really needs!  My husband is very active, he works out, runs 3 miles 3x a week and started doing YOGA.  He also stretches his muscles. He tries anything and everything he can to help him stay active but still his LEFT ARM keeps vibrating.  I could'nt understand what he was going through but when I read some of the discussions I see he is not the only one going through these symptoms. Can someone please HELP US with this conditions, this is extremely frustrating especially that we can't seek help elsewhere. Also, these vibrations are iNTERNAL!sad I can't feel them...?

What kind of exercise??? Therapy???

PLEASE HELP HIM...PLEASE

THANK YOUsmile

What do you mean he's incarcerated in an institution ?

Surely ( unless he was already in ) he should be having head scans etc.

in a general hospital. I have tremors and electric shock type sensations amongst other symptoms but not all internal I.e not all unseen by other people. I was diagnosed with two forms of dystonia and have Meds now to control them.

      Hello there,

My husband is in a federal prison.... Please don't be alarmed, he didnt hurt anyone. Unfortunately, he can't get help unless it's life threatening. In this case, the medical personnel don't understand his symptoms and jump to conclusions that either he is not well in the head or making this up. We have made several requests to see a specialist so that he can get a MRI or a cat scan...??? I don't know what he has but I've read about tremors. When he's falling asleep the tremors start and he can't fall asleepsad

I've read about essential tremors and it's the only one that describes what he is going through. Please if you can help us name this problem I will really appreciate it.

Sounds like he needs a referral to be assessed by a Neurologist, preferably one that specialises in movement disorders.

ive no idea how he or you would go about this, could you speak or write to the governor of the prison ?

I don't have any control over my tremors they are there all the time but the shock sensations only seem to come when I go to bed and would keep me awake but I've been prescribed clonazepam for the muscle jerks along with propranolol to minimise the tremors which work for me.

I now sleep really well, similar drugs are given for essential tremor which is similar to dystonic tremor both being neurological in cause.

i hope they will take notice and get him to a specialist to be assessed,

    Best wishes to you both

Most definitely we would like to start with a Neurologist and we are hoping to get one soon.

He placed a request to see a specialist but we are still waiting for an answer, it's not easy. Thank you for your response and i am praying he can get the help he needs very soon!

      Take care
