Tremors and muscular spasms

For more than a year now, I had tremors and muscular spasms. I have them when resting, when I’m up or active I don’t notice them.
It’s more pronounced at the end of the day and after eating.
At first I only noticed it in bed, then the second part of the day, then always. The firsts months I had mostly tremors and because of the symptoms I had trouble sleeping and a lot of anxiety.
I went to the internal and the cardiologist, they made me some blood tests and cardiology tests, results: apart from some sinus arrhythmias all OK.
So the conclusion was that was probably anxiety. But a year later, more calm and being able to sleep mostly fine I’m not so sure. They talked me about maybe visiting a neurophysiologist.
Somebody told me to take tranquilizers-anxiolytic, and if most of the tremors go away, it must be anxiety. Thoughts on that?
What I should do now?

Hello you havent said wether you take any regular medications.i have suffered from, anxiety, schziophrenia and heart disease.I have never had muscle spasms from anxiety, I have however had full blown involuntary body movements. These are classic side effects from anti psychotic medication treatment. Also, are the tremors in the hands or feet? Anxiety usually causes a response called fight or flight. Which basically means whatever your are experiencing at the time. Your body has percieved it is a threat to your safety. This causes excess adrenaline to he released into your bloodstream. Your heart begins to beat faster and you would feel panic. Tremors and muscle spasms can be early warning signs of mulitiple sclerosis. Also are the spasms painful or just uncomfortable. You also haven't mentioned your age, which can also be important. I would ask your gp for a refferal to see a neurologist. I don't mean to worry you, but this definitely dosent sound like anxiety to me. Best to rule out the more serious conditions before assuming it's anxiety. Another key thing to mention is the fact that you know your own body, and if you suspect something is wrong contact your gp.

Tremors are mostly internal in the core.
Spasms (which don’t occur often) are not painful, they usually affect a small part of a muscle (any part of the body) just for an instant, sometimes they are rhythmic and contractions last for some seconds.

It doesn't sound anything serious. But I'm not a doctor, please take our advice and ask to see a neurologist. They can run tests to rule out serious illnesses with similar symptoms. It will give you peace of mind

You should see a neurologist but I have temors and spasims in my arms and legs. I have Parkinson's and use L-Dopa and a nicotine patach to control the temors and spasims. It works for me but may or may not work for you. Best advice is to get a neurologist to check you out.

Hi, everybody's response is right on, neurologist is the right Dr. And able to order more precise testing being it's in his specialty field than primarlary doctor. Also just a suggestion keeping a journal with dates, time of day/night, symptoms even the smalls thing can give a clue. It helped me focus trying to explain with in the 20 minute window u have with that doctor. Please try to get a proper diagnoses before any medication. When the body developes a symptom or more than one we react on treating the symptom before the cause. Best wishies.

i'm dealing with a similar issue right now. it started as a small twitch in my stomach, that happened while i was driving down a highway with my partner beside me. today it is complete limb jerks, that may happen repeatedly at any moment at rest. usually it is at its worst when i am laying down at night and when i am sitting in a car. the further i go in a car the worse it gets, and the closer i am to home the easier it gets. so it sounds like anxiety based off of that, but it is too weird to believe. i have other symptoms that add to the fire of daily misery. sensations in my head, feeling frozen, lack of decision making skills, severe dp/dr, feeling unable to talk, fainting/deactivating sensations, etc.
i hope that you get better.
