Tried everything, now suffering a HUGE flare-up. Help! (IBSC)

Hi, I've been suffering with IBSC for about 3 years now (sometimes with diarrhoea if I get a blockage). I've discovered I'm lactose intolerant (2years ago) but I'm now considering gluten intolerance? I've been off gluten for about a month (apart from porridge oats) and haven't noticed much difference except that carbs don't sit heavy on my stomach. Today, however, I woke with serious constipation (been to the toilet 6 times with only a little coming out) and huge cramps. I thought I had a blockage so I bought some liquid paraffin which seemed to get some out but not all. I feel I'm putting too much stress on my family and boyfriend, with my changing, strict diets and symptoms. Going to the drs next week for acne (possibly related to ibs?) so hope to find out some more info but unlikely. Can Anyone help me with my blockages?? (I feel like everyone is ibsD!! Lol)

Thank you

Try get hold of the book foods that harm foods that heal.its excellent! You might need friendly bacteria in you acidophilus and bifidus check them out. You may feel better if its that you just need??

Try Holland and Barrett's food health shop too. Or see a nutritionist..

    Hi

I was diagnosed with IBSC over 15 years ago and still nothing has helped. This past 8 months I have been admitted to hospital for blockage and they keep giving me enemas and pre op drink. They say I now have lazy bowel syndrome.

I am on new tablets Prucalopride which are still not helping. I suggest drinking 8 sachets of movicol within 6 hours and that should help.

I have hospital again end of Aug.

let eat me know of the Movicol works and keep me posted. Don't feel alone I am going through the same and try stay positive.

i also suggest reading the NICE guidance on IBSC it's really helpful and points you in right direction on what to say to docs etc

    Take care
