Trigeminal Neuralgia

I first developed this condition when i was 40. I am now 63 and still suffering. I had the operation in my fifties, and thought i was cured, but after 2 years it returned. I then went into hospital and had an ingection in the face, I have not had anymore pain from the right side of my face where it started, but am now suffering from the left side. I am now back taking carbamazepine 200mg. which is helping. If any one wishes to contact me on this condition they may do so. I have now spent 23 years with this condition which does come and go. I was in Charing Cross Hospital for the Operation. Mr Mendoza carried it out. I was in for 5 Days, but it took me two months to get over it before i could go back to work. Hope this has been of some help.

I'm 51 and I've been suffering from TN for 10years now, and I would like to know what kind of operation you went thru, and how much it cost you.

I've been taking pills all the time and I'm tired of it, the pain is coming more frequently and lasting longer, and quite frankly I'm tired of being in pain, it's interrupting my work life and my life at home.

I also am interested what type of operation you went through and the cost. I have suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 4 1/2 years after having an wisdom tooth extracted, and I have never endured pain like this before. It has flared up again after a break of 6 months and is really at it's peak. I have tried all the usual medication but to no avail, nothing seems to help

I have a stabbing pain on my tongue, the slightest touch to my face is agony, brushing my teeth, talking, are all unbearable. I do get a break for a few months each time which is the only thing which keeps me sane but it really is very depressing so I know how everyone who suffers from it feels. My GP is hopefully going to refer me to a neurosurgeon as I have just been treated at my local hospital in the dentistry department and there is nothing more they can do.

I had a MRI scan which didn't show anything .
