trigger finger

resultant of a fall in January, where I fractured my left radius bone at the write, my hand continues to have issues.  I've pretty much given up that stiffness, occasional slight pain will go away, (maybe it will take years).

In the meantimec, I wake up with the middle fingers (ring a bird finger) stiff.  If I happen to make a fist, the ring finger will "stick".  I'm told this is trigger finger and it will not straighten out without using my other hand to pull it out.

I can repeatedly get it to "lock" in the closed position and open it until it gets looser.

My question is, "will doing this, (locking and opening) help or is it further escalating whatever irritated, swollen tendons in the carpel are causing it to lock?

heat and PT didn't do much to ease stiffness, inability to make a tight fist and regain strength.  Although it still bothers me and don't have the strength I'd like, it reached an acceptable level.  I thought perhaps time would fix it, but the stiff, trigger finger thing seems to be getting worse.

Thoughts?

I broke my wrist August 2017 I have gone through, trigger thumb with pain after about 6 months, that is now perfectly ok. I then after the thumb improved, I same as you got ring finger lock, at first was painful when it locked, and had to unlock using my other hand. IT still will lock, but not really painful and I can unlock without using help from other hand.  It does take time but all will improve, and I am now 69. I had to have plate and seven screw operarion. So keep excersises up I bought excersize balls in Amazon keeps it all moving.

    Hope that helps Maureen
