Trimethoprim nausea

Does anyone know if constant nausea might be due to Trimethoprim or from the urinary infection? I see from this site that Trimethoprim is related to Septrin, which I know I am allergic to.

I started taking Trimethoprim and within 2 hours I felt sick and had a fever. My temperature has come down now but I still feel sick, and I've got 6 more days to go on it! Don't know what to do...

I definately understand what you are going through, I started these tablets yesterday, having been to the doctors for a Urinary Tract Infection. Although the pain has gone, I am struggling to even move, I feel sick, dizzy, struggling to take a deep breath and generally feel unwell, which doesn't help when I've a 6 month old baby at home.

I'm calling my doctor this afternoon if I don't feel any better, and hopefully get something else.

I got prescribed these antibiotics on sat evening at A&E for a urine infection. Ever since taking these tablets, I have been off food and feeling constantly like I am going to throw up.So now my DR has prescribed me cefalexin and I feel a 100% better!

Was prescribed Trimethoprim last Monday, and had the same symptoms - nauseous, dizziness, sickness. Had to change it to Nitrofurantoin and I feel fine.
