Tripe phase bone scan

My doctor wants me to take this test, but I don't want to!  It's not covered by my insurance and is only 50% effective as a diagnostic tool.  I'm not sure why he is insisting I have this scan, since it is so obvious that I have CRPS, and I would rather source my funds to solution based practices instead of diagnostic:  ie:  PT, OT or manuel therapies.  My doc doesn't seem to get that I'm poor and that my Health care coverage is not what I wish it was, but it is the best I can do.

Thanks all for responding

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has had this test done, and if it seems or is vital to my recovery.  It seems quite scary.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Violet,

My wife had this scan a few years back even though her other CPRS symptoms were very clear. The test did confirm weakness in bone density in affected limb. Sure I read somewhere that the condition can cause some kind of osteoporosis. They then prescribed calcium tablets to go with her very long list of pain meds.

Luckily our National Health Service sorts it out so we don't have to worry about health insurance.

Thanks for responding, Kram21.  I am sure of my diagnosis, too.  Don't see the need for this test....
