16 wks on and starting to get pain behind the knee it has become very painful after resting .knee still locks but after massaging it , it feels better but sore. over the kneecap is still numb to the right side but that is due to the nerves knitting back. ROM is still 95 but im happy with that as before the op i feel it was less as i could not bend it at all due to the pain from the arthritis. I'm now starting to feel glad i had it done i still have pain but i can cope with it. left knee is still waiting to be done but i need to wait till i can face it as that pain after surgery is unexplainable and we have all been through it

Hi Kathleen I am 5 months from a LTKR and have the same issues. I have pain on my left side of knee cap also and behind knee cap. My therapist says it is tightness in the hamstrings and has given me exercises which have helped. I do exercises for my ROM which is slowly improving. I see my o/s next month and am worried about MUA, as he had mentioned it at my 3 month appt and was not happy. I also have lower back pain and he referred me to a pain specialist because my lower back was impeding with my bending . I was given a steroid injection which did not help my back so I am on my pain meds. I have a very good therapist who is working with me on my knee and my lower back.
