Trouble catching breath

Posted , 3 users are following.

So I have been doing better as of later. Not getting as dizzy or headaches at work. I make sure to drink lots of water.

I was really tired at work today although I didn't really do much 2day because we weren't that busy today. It has been a long week for me and still got a few days 2 go.

When I leave work though I struggle to catch my breath while driving. It's not like I'm huffing and puffing but more of a lump in my throat kinda thing and I shake or twitch alot and sniff alot to try and catch my breath. But it's weird when I get home I'm fine. I'm sure it's just anxiety that's causing it as that's a typical anxiety thing but I dunno it's just annoying but weird when I'm home I'm fine...

Like its just crazy how anxiety comes out of the blue like this. 5 months ago I was fine and hit worried about my health and now sorta every little pain I get worried although now I try to just chalk it up 2 anxiety.

I'm trying to still work and have a life but anxiety makes it difficult!!

    Hey mackie12135

Did anything happen to you whilst driving in the past? Can you remember what you were thinking about when the symptoms occured or were you primarliy focused on the drive?

I keep catching myself holding my breath when I do everyday things (even when I don't feel particularly anxious) and I'm trying to teach myself abdominal breathing through those tasks and distraction techniques to keep the worrying at ease. One distraction I've been using is focusing on how many colours I can see around - never realised how many different shades of green there are on the trees when you drive by :D It takes pratcise but you can do it.

    Wishing you well!

Nope never had any issues while driving before. I don't get it all the time so. It's just weird I mean your driving not thinking about anything just focused on the road and that....

It's weird though how the things I did bf I get panicky and sketchy about them. I was at a casino last week playing in a poker tournamnet. Tournamnet I have played in before, not high stakes or nothing and I got to the table and I began shaking and it lasted awhile. I had a couple of beers and I calmed down a bit but I've been to casino played in this tournamnet bf and I was fine. I guess panicky attacks can come out of knowhwere and don't need a rhyme or reason. I didn't win the tourney but went pretty deep.

I've been doing better recently so just taking it one day at a time.

      Thanks everyone

The tension of playing in a tournament, and drinking alcohol would send anyone into an anxiety fit. I would have been quivering under the table.lol

I've done it bf, usually alcohol comes me down it acts as a sedative, anxiety goes away when I have a couple of pops, I'm not an alcoholic by know means....that's why my doc just thinks I have mild anxiety because when I have a couple of pops I'm generally fine...
