Trouble passing urine

Really hoping someone on here could perhaps help or advice on a matter I've had for at least two years now. When it comes to urinating I'm unable to go unless I press down hard on my lower tummy area even then very little passes it's getting to the point now that I'm now bruising myself from pressing so hard. It's so uncomfortable and the pain can at times be horrible I've been too the doctors several times but have just been fobbed off with antibiotics and they've never actually helped. I'm 23 and fully aware now that this isn't normal I'm so used to doing it now it's the pain more than anymore and having the urge but nothing ever comes of it.

that is not right that you should have to do that to pass urine, l could suggest you try duiretics, or  sitting in a bath in warm water to see if it helps you. you could try warming a pad and pressing it gentlyagainst your urethra when feeling a need to go, see if it helps relax your muscles, But reality is you need to see a urologist, l cant understand your gp did he check urine sample or confirm if there was infection, but whether you have or not, there is no way its acceptable to bruise yourself to pass urine, you could make it worse l think your gp is wrong to fob you off with such problems, tell him you want to see gp, or go into a and e and let them know. Best wishes it gets put right.

No they've not asked for a urine sample recently. I've had an ovarian abscess a while back which began to rupture so ended up being taken into hospital. But I've just always had this issue my doctors surgery is shocking just feel like they fob me off half the time. I've tried baths, drinking water, changing my diet and taking vitamins and things but I'm finding the more I'm drinking the more pressure and discomfort I'm feeling.

Logical that the more you drink the more pressure, have you seen a urologist, or had a scan or scope. it could be your urethra thats got narrower, it happens to quite a few l think, at my last scope it was said my urethra had narrowed quite a bit and was offered a dilation, which means stretching it under anascetic l guess, l decided to leave it for a while as my capacity and flow is fairly good, if it gets bad l,ll let him know. It did take many years of pain and poor health before l got to see urologist who scoped diagnosed and treated, he,d been ok for me, and l can write to him and would rather than the gps, but its not easy getting on their lists, seems to be worse now.  But lve also other health probs now, years later, different type, and l,m also battlilng, as with many it seems, with drs or surgery,s that are fobbing patients off, till it becomes a serious problem, which l think is why many go to a  and e leading to them being crowded out. All you can do is what many of us do when suffering or bad affects on lifestyle, keep on at gps for referrral or scope, if able to pay private for quicker testing, if gets much worse a dn e. Maybe someone will reply who,s had simular problem, Good luck
