Trouble Self Cathetering

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am an over weight male and need to self catheter. However, I can not reach with both hands because of my excess weight and because my private area is tucked inside. I am trying hard to lose weight, but it is going very slowly. I have had a Foley catheter for almost a year now and have had three UTI's. Does anyone have any advice on how to reach with both hands or am I just going to have to continue using the Foley catheter until I can get to my desired weight.

I have tried several positions: standing, sitting. laying on my side, but nothing is working. I have searched Youtube and have tried other internet searches for "self catheter for obese male", and have not been able to find anything...... This is the first place I have seen that I might possibly be able to find someone with a similar situation and be able to help me out.....

Thank you for any suggestions.

    garry,

You may be a candidate for gastric surgery, as a way to lose weight. There is also a procedure where they insert an inflatable ball into your stomach, by endoscope, which can be removed later.
