Trouble sleeping

I'm new to this forum and have many questions that hopefully some of you can answer. I'm 15 years old and have been sick for about 2 weeks now. I've had severe trouble sleeping due to my sore throat, and no medicine seems to help. I have had a terrible sore throat for the past week and it is so hard to sleep or take a nap now because I cant deal with the pain in my throat. Is there anything I can do to help me sleep? I feel so helpless and stressed.

Hi Sophia, I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. It is an awful virus. The sore throat is awful. However it does get better with time. Magic Mouthwash might help. Perhaps your parents could ask your dr to call in a prescription for you. Lots and lots of water. Like LOTS. The throat should start to get better within the next couple weeks but it will likely be sore for a while but not the wicked sore you are experiencing right now. Supplements are important because your immune system needs repairing. This is another conversation to have with your doctor but some basics might be probiotic, omega 3, and a good multivitamin. Wishing you healing sweet girl. Hang in there, the awfulness you are in right now will get better. -Karen
