Trouble sleeping with anxiety?! Any natural remedies?

Posted , 6 users are following.

Every night I fall asleep then not an hour or two later I wake up with fear going through me sometimes a fast heart beat and then I cant stop thinking. Sometimes I can fall back asleep but I always wake up with fear and dread...has anyone else had this? Any ways to fall asleep and stay asleep naturally? Its been happening for weeks I just want sleep. Cant nap either cause when i lay down I get the panicky feeling and have to get back up. 😦

I have really bad insomnia but my psychiatrist has put me on sleeping meds. I remember i used ti stay awake all hours of the night then fall asleep around 5am or 6am when most people where waking up. I ended up sleeping through the whole day. It helped me to try and understand why I was afraid to sleep. I always turned a fan in or my tv, something that made noise because the silence made me anxious. I always leave the hallway light on outside my room because I even more paranoid. sometimes it even helped to lock my bedroom door, just because it made me feel safer. It would help to understand why you cant fall asleep or to at least notice little things. Maybe try to write down everything you think of when you go to bed. My sleeping meds have been helping for the past few months but I still have to do my part. I try to notice when I start thinking things that I know will keep me up or that will give me nightmares. My doctors wants me to read a book and drink a glass if milk before bed, no tv an hour before bed, etc. Not watching tv or being on my phone before bed definitely sometimes I even start cleaning so I will he worn out. Sorry for rambling!
