Trouble with walker

Has anyone had this happen? Having to use a walker to get around because of balance problems, and then getting intense muscle pains in sides and arms and shoulders? Any activity, such as shopping or going to appts. starts up a flare that does not die down for one or two days. Do you think a cortisone shot would help in my side muscles?

I'm afraid so. I have spasms so bad some nights I stand up all night and lean on kitchen counter. I've tried everything but magnesium just before bed seems to work. Be careful with cortisone. It can affect your heart and leave you swollen and puffy looking and eventually you can't live without it. My bouts with spasms seem to come in cycles though. Right now I'm having a dreadful time with spasms and balance; yes balance is a difficult and sometimes embarrassing thing. But I can go couple to three months without spasms and then suddenly they start back up and don't let up for several months. I try to drink lots of water but that doesn't seem to be the cause.
