Just over 4 weeks weaning off 10mg citalopram. Can't do too long taper as these meds made me feel awful. Dropped to 7.5mg fir 3 weeks then 5mg. First few days awful on 5 sleep dreadful and anxiety bad, so trying 5mg one night then 2.5 mg next see if alternating the dose rather than dropping straight diwn to 2..5 work better anyone tried this? Dont want to go back up as desperate get off these meds. Sleep has been bit better and actually felt bit better yesterday morning on 2.5 even though didnt t last. Feel very tired achey but guess that's normal. Thinking maybe 2+ months taper as the longer i'm on them worse I feel.

be careful as dose reductions take a while to catch up, trust me i know how you feel as im desperate to get off but going too fast can be dangerous, although it sounds like you only get a few side effects which is great, really hope it goes well 😃

Side effects are crippling literally feel I don't want go on lot of time, think it's case how bad side effects are to be honest but appreciate having lot must be hard. Will try 2.5mg tonight and see how get on as these drugs ruining my life so worth a try.

Sorry you are still suffering. Ironic something I took to help with intrusive thoughts made them lot worse, and gave me OCD with compulsions as well, they should warn you how difficult they can be to come off.

they should indeed but unfortunately most trials of these drugs are over a four week period, and my doctor even admits i know more about withdrawal etc than her.

How long you been on them for? Have they not worked for you?

Been taking anti depressants for about 6 months did take sertraline for couple months in the middle. No just made things lot worse with more symptoms, were a really bad move in my case I'm afraid although I know they help lot of people.
