YES! there were for me, first though be careful, as your pain might be better because the gabapentin is working and not because your injury has gotten better, see your doctor.

As for getting off it, it was tricky for me as I got a severe case of the jitters, it was like an anxiety issue, similar to a caffine overload on steroids.

I ended up reducing my 900mg x 4 times a day dosage by 300mg in 1 week stages so week 2 was 600mg x 4, week 3 300mg x4 (ie 1 tablet 4 times a day) BUT this is where the issue arose as the next step was to come off the Gabapentin but I couldnt, I had to stay on it for a further month and during that time come off caffine completely and try to learn to chill and relax.

Everyone is different but it definatley not an easy step to come off itm there was some thought involved. See your doctor though as they will have vastly more experience of this issue.

    Good luck Rhonda

Yes I had really nasty side effects of horrible depression. I was on 300mg 3x day and went down to 1x day. After about 2 days I went to bed for 4 days, I felt so awful and didn't even think about the fact I had lowered my dose. I felt confused and miserable. Take it really slowly, drop 1 dose for a few weeks before you drop another, it takes a long time but it can be done and is worth it :-) Good Luck.
