Hi,My consultant has talked to me about having this done, but not told me I must have it, but he says it will help to preserve my sight.  I have had a trabulectomy...does that wear out and that's why you have to have this tube implant? just wondering if anyone has has this done?  How long is the op, what's the recovery time like?  Any info welcome., thanks.

If u are referring to a drainage stent to provide an extra route for drainage my Dr will put one in my eye when I get my cataract surgery.  The IStent is currently being used & Cypass was approved recently.  From what I researched the complication rate is no more than what it would be with cataract surgery.

Ok just researched IStent & CyPass not the same as what u are referring to.  Possibly trabulectomy not working as well as it did & Dr wants to get pressure down further.  I think the questions u need to ask are.  JaveI lost vision?  What are the complications of this device & success rates?  If u have lost vision, and are at substantial risk to losing more then I would do it. Also, your age would enter into it.
