There was something on radio a while back where they had done a research project which showed that fresh turmeric and turmeric powder was much better than taking supplements.

Clare1001, not grasping at straws it is not a cure all, but I take it three times a day with meals. So I am a believer that it helps, does it, I don't know but I do not miss a dose. Good luck on your journey, stay positive. Smile on my face. 🙂

I know a couple of people who use it in cooking - and swore they could tell the difference when they hadn't used it. Ginger and oily fish was on their menu too. Didn't replace pred but did help how they felt.

The programme on radio was saying that turmeric really did seem to have an affect. The doctor being interviewed said he was quite amazed at the results. It does seem the turmeric supplements are a bit of a waste of time though.

To be bioavailable turmeric, or curcumin, must be taken or eaten with a little black pepper.  Turmeric is in same family as ginger which has been shown to have anti inflammatory properties, and the added benefit of not dying everything it touches an indelible shade of yellow!  But please do your research; it is indeed contraindicated in some cases.

Grasping at straws or not, I'm following Dr Michael Mosley's research and advice, and have swapped the capsules for turmeric latte every day with fat and black pepper, both of which have evidentially improved uptake.

    I think I'll do anything.....
