Turp again after 12 years anyone's thoughts? Taking Terazosin seems cause frequent urge to pee.

No rest at night have get up about every 2 hours to pee have to strain most time to pee with erection even without still have strain taking 5mg Terazosin i guess it helps but wondering if this whats causing the urge all night i dont have that much trouble of day can live with it but not at night had a Turp about 12 years ago it was rough but did help certainly dont want to but considering having another cant rest at night dont feel good of day comments welcome.

    Sorry to hear you are unable to sleep. I suggest you consider starting CIC and managing your fluid intake so that you can go to bed with a relatively empty bladder and not have to get up at night to cath. This will at least allow you to get some sleep and then think about the next steps such as another surgery, etc.

    Well ....sorry to hear that mate but before you do another turp check yourself for presence of bacteria in your prostate. It may cause inflammation and urgency to pee. Also your prostate will get larger because of infection there. You should do Stamey's test + semen culture test. Not urine . Nothing to do with prostate. If you establish that there is no bacteria growth then you will have no choice but Turp. To be clear- I'm not talking about STI when I say bacteria. There are other bacteria like E.Coli or Enterococcus which causes prostate inflammation
