I am aware of HOLEP benefits but before I spend £8000 in the UK going Private is there anybody on here with a TURP good news story? Just wondering if it really is worth that amount of money compared to TURP. NHS have offered me TURP, my prostate isn't big enough to be offered HOLEP , so my other dilemma is how long I will be on the NHS waiting list compared to a guaranteed private bed during November.

HI ANDY, I was on nhs waiting list for about eight weeks,of course this was six months ago,so with covid here in Wales gettin out of control,the waiting list might me a lot longer,I had the operation on the Friday and came home the following day,with very few problems,prior to the op I had foley catheter in for six months,with nothing but pain,discomfort and eleven catheter changes in that short time!! In my case the nhs op was well,well worth it,feel free to ask any questions.
