Hello Michael. My name is Doug and I had a TURP 4 weeks ago. The one thing I think I can say with assurance is that the only consistency to this operation is the variability with which patients respond. I've done my share of reading on this site and others and some guys are extremely lucky and see the results we all hope for right out of the gate. Others have to wallow through a host of unexpected symptoms that may last weeks or months. And all of it seems to be in the realm of "normal" recovery according to doctors. So with that said, I hope your recovery is quick and without any uncomfortable symptoms that drag on.
Cheers

Thanks for that slydog, I hope you don't mind me asking you a couple of questions with your operation being 4 weeks ago.
When is it alright to carry on with intercourse?
Do you still ejaculate?
Regards,
Michael.

From what I understand, you can have intercourse as soon as a couple of weeks after surgery. I think if you feel up to it after that period of healing, than go for it. To be honest, I haven't yet but my situation has been compounded by a staph infection. I've been fighting that for a couple of weeks and my mind just isn't into sex yet. I've read several other comments where guys have jumped back into sex pretty quickly. Some experience retrograde ejaculations and others don't. The jury is still out on where I may be but on the positive side, I'm beginning to give my girlfriend lascivious looks. :-)
Good luck.
