Hi Jane,  you are definitely not the only one here ...I am not sure what I can tell you .. are you taking pain meds ? sometimes a muscle relaxant can help with the restlessness in your legs ...

maybe you can call your GP or surgeon ?

take care and be gentle with your self ...

Hi Jane I used to have this too, sometimes still do, I'm 7 weeks post op, my partner used to rub a cold flannel up and down my leg, and then when we got the cold pads these used to suffice...... it does go eventually. Love Gillxx

    Hi Jane

I have had restless legs for many years but have been particularly bothered with twitching in the operated leg. Went to the gp and was prescribed Pamiprexole. Works like a charm and has a side effect of drowsiness so doubly helpful.

Jane, I would try Volterene Pain Cream, you can get it without a doctors prescription the 2% works really well. It takes about 30 minutes for it to work so be patient.  Just check what time it is when you rub it on and wait right around 30 minutes, it really does work on that leg twitching, I used it for that. As a matter of fact I just used it last night on my unoperated hip which is showing me that that hip is gonna go eventually, I had mild pain (just enough to keep me awake) in that unoperated hip and the small of my back, I rubbed in the Volterene and ooooooowithin 30 minutes I was sleeping.

    Hi Jane

I had that for the first few days after the operation. Ihad to keep getting in and out of bed. I think (at least in my case) it was due to the epidural anasethetic getting out of the system and also not taking Amytryptiline any more for the pain.

It does go away so hang in there!

    Hi Jane

i had what I can only describe as  a feeling like an electrical current going through my leg, which made it vibrate/shake.

I am nearly 4 weeks post op and it seems to have eased off

hang in there, although a muscle relaxant sound good, especially if it might help you sleep

    good luck tonight

    love Carol😄 Xx

    Hi Jane,

I have had calf twitches that can then cramp in the night. I used some theraband and have been doing calf stretches, it seems to have calmed it down.
