Twitching, burning

Posted , 1 user is following.

39 year old male. Not quite 2 months ago, I started having a series of muscle twitches. The first time woke me up. They were located in my left temple. Sometimes they repeat in certain areas like my left temple, left forearm, and left eyelid. More commonly they are random single twitches anywhere in my body. They are not painful. I've also noticed some stiffness around my knees and right calf, but no loss of strength.

In the last 2-3 weeks, I've also had some heat/burning sensations over my body too. Lasts for few seconds, and then stops.

In the last week or so, I have also noticed I sometimes mumble unintentionally and I repeatedly had a time last week where I dribbled a bit of liquid down my shirt when drinking from a straw. I am afraid that I am now becoming paranoid and linking every little thing to a possible medical condition.

I have had a pretty stressful year because of work. I had multiple heart tests for a palpitation. Still waiting on the results from the last one, but we're hoping it is a benign condition that might also be impacted by stress.

Reading on the internet for the symptoms probably only increased my stress. After I get my heart results back, I will be going back to my GP and asking for a referral to a neurologist.

Any thoughts or reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
