Ann you have nothing to worry about, I had the same fear of waking up during surgery but that will not happen.  Just enjoy the sleep, it will be the last time you sleep well for a few weeks.  You will be fine and so glad you had it done.

Hi John, that's great news? Did you have the minimially invasive surgery?

No, they went thru the backside.  I did do PT for about two month prior to surgery so I think that help with recovery.

Wow! Almost unbelievable to be driving a truck so soon. Have to say John I felt great at 2 weeks and wanted to ditch the crutches too and do everything. I overdid it and now at 8 weeks, I have to go back on 1 crutch. Is your surgeon happy with your quick progress or would he prefer you took it a bit easier? Congrats to you though!

He is happy.  I asked how soon before I could start ice skating again and he said 8-10 weeks.  It;s good to push yourself but you have to also know when you are over doing it too.  You just have to listen to your boday.

      Renee,

I mainly do reports, walk the plant and make phone calls, so that is why I was able to return to work so fast.  As for what I did before surgery was only PT but I am also only 46 and in pretty good shape, so that is helping with recovery.  I think the main reason I am doing this well is I have a positive outlook on being pain free.  I know that being active will help speed up the recovery time.  I've been in pain for over 5 years and I'm just ready to get back to enjoying life.
