Tympanic Membrane Perforation

people say this condition can be very painful but i found paracetamol really helps . my first indication anything was wrong was i suddenly went quite deaf, then felt pressure builing up and within 2 hours was in pain. this started at 6pm and during the night my drum must have perforated as by morning the pressure and pain had gone although my hearing was still affected. i went to doctors who confermed perforated eardrum and was given antibiotics for week and told to return in 4 to 6 weeks as drum should heel itself.

    Hi Lisa,

Just been diagnosed with hole in ear drum and I have elected to have surgery. I have had no pain so far with this hole in left ear, but still prefer to have it fixed and stop risk of infection later.

    How's you ear doing?

    Tony
