    Hi Magentaorchid,

I'm not sure you would want to reduce your Toujeo dose as 92 mg/dL (milligrams per deciLiter) is NOT low.

You really ought to be discussing any changes in your regimen with a member of your diabetes support team ... doctor/endocrinologist, diabetes specialist nurse, certified diabetes educator.  They will tell you exactly the same as I have just done.

What do you consider "low" after lunch?  Are you testing at the correct time after your lunch?  It SHOULD be 2 hours after your first bite of food ... or 1 hour and 2 hours if you happen to be pregnant.

P.S. Please don't be offended, or alarmed, about the 'x's'.  It's merely a logo, of sorts, that I've used for about the last 40 years.

Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which cells cannot use blood sugar (glucose) efficiently for energy. This happens when the cells become insensitive to insulin and the blood sugar gradually gets too high.

There are two types of diabetes mellitus, type 1 and type 2. In type 2, the pancreas still makes insulin, but the cells cannot use it very efficiently. In type 1 diabetes, the pancreas cannot make insulin due to auto-immune destruction of the insulin-producing beta cells.

Type 2 can be caused by:

    1. Being overweight

    2. Eating a lot of foods or drinks with sugar and simple carbohydrates

    3. Artificial sweeteners (sugar free sodas, sugar free foods) intake

    4. Lack of activity (sedentary behavior)

    5. Lack of exercise

    6. Stress and stress hormones

    7. Genetics
