UA results - home test kits
Posted , 3 users are following.
I bought one of these testers on internet, this one in particular tests cholesterol, glucose and uric acid levels.
It comes with instructions on how to take blood sample and its fairly easy to follow, it says to test uric acid every day in the morning for 2 weeks
The problem is test results are all over the place, ranging from 5-9, so i decided to do tests just minuts apart and its still the same, 2-3 points difference between each test. Ua cant flactuate like that?
Im yet to go to doc and compare results but this tester looks very unreliable, results should be consistent at least?
Should i return device as it doesn't really tell me much, if it was within 10% i would slbe ok unless my ua goes up and down like a yoyo but how probable os that scenario?
*normal range is under 7.2

Throw the test away.
NB 7.2 is not really normal. For a man it needs to be under 7, and forawoman under 8.
However for a gout sufferer normal isn't good enough - needs to be more like 3.

You can take the blood out of your finger tip, your vein your toes or your nose - if it's red and liquid and not beetroot or tomato juice it's all the same.
