I had this procedure done back in October, so not quite a year yet. It was my first procedure aside from having kids (and did that naturally..no meds). I was very nervous about the medical staff giving me fentanyl and Versed prior to the procedure. I realize that your fears will most likely be different, but this will go as well as it can. Menstrual times get better for most and you can have a better life overall. For me, my iron count improved and not as tired as I used to be. I can exercise and have no discomfort now. The only negative thing, for me was I vomited for two days due to the meds used for the procedure, but did not take any Percocet because I chose to use Ibuprofen only. Walking for 10 to 15 minutes a day outside helped in healing (clears the mind and helps ease the cramping).
Good Luck!

I would still recommend it though as this enabled me to get it small enough to have a Myomectomy instead of a Hysterectomy. Which I never wanted.
Had a bad time in Hospital then I healed nicely. Go for it I say. Not that bad.

Good luck for Monday, try not to worry too much. The success rate is pretty high for UFE, but every person is different. The pain afterwards can be intense so think about your pain management. If you are working, plan to be off your feet for at least 2 weeks, and be prepared to rake it easy for a few more weeks after that.
Even though I was in a lot of pain, I could feel a difference with the size of my fibroids almost immediately. I no longer had to get up twice in the night to go to the bathroom, my waistline went down drastically and my periods improved right away. It took me a few months to gain my energy completely, but my periods continued to get less and less, now almost 3 year later, I barely notice my period and only wear panty liners. So for me the discomfort and pain was very worth it.
