All the best Tracy, just make sure you book your followups with your gynea 4-6 weeks, just to be sure..

Thank you! Unfortunately I'm in the UK using national health so if I want to be seen it will have to be my gp or if something is wrong I will go to A&E. But I will definitely try calling the hospital too and see if they can help me. A routine follow up is unlikely unless it's the MRI in a few months.

Ok, hope Your GP knows how the recovery unfolds. As you may have read here, the GPs and even some Obgys have no clue about the extreme stuff happening especially about 6 wks post UFE.
All the best keep us posted. There's good support in this web

Back home. They kept me two nights for pain management and because I was so sick on the morphine I became dehydrated. I am still in severe pain. Truly horrible 😣 The procedure itself was fine. It's the aftermath.

Hi Tracy, hang in there girl. The pain will get better each day. At least it did for me. Just keep taking the pain killer as prescribed, and something for constipation like prune juice with your food. Rest as much as you can.
All the best wish you quick recovery.
Keep us posted on your progress

Ohh so sorry. Maybe you're nauseated because your taking your meds in an empty tummy. I know I had no appetite but I took my meds after a banana. Then when I felt better I ate some food.
Hope GP helped you.
Hugs..

Hi all,
on my UFE......I hope this will be useful for other people:
well that was tough but it's almost over.
Procedure day being day 0, I was sent home on day 2. Pain was severe.
Day 3 nausea started really badly. Unable to eat. Pain went from severe to tolerable.
Day 6 nausea stopped and I was able to eat again. Pain became mild.
Very tired till Day 8 when I went out for a short walk. Mild pain continued.
Day 9 I was driven to center of town. I find walking fast impossible and tiring. Otherwise fine.
Day 10 today and the only persistent problem is mild pain which can be controlled with paracetamol alone. Still tired and husband won't let me lift anything heavy or do any house chores bless him.
No discharge yet except very mild spotting.
The actual puncture site is incredibly clean, no haematoma, swelling or redness - almost invisible!
I've lost two kilos and because I'm on the skinny side I am actually trying to put them back, to feel stronger.
I think my recovery has been slower than some but I would say it really requires two weeks off work. I still don't know it the UFE has worked and will have to be patient.
The good news is that I have already been sent a follow-up MRI appointment next week! The relief of getting this early appointment is impossible to describe.
Thank you everyone.

Hi.. So how have you been feeling after the whole ufe process till now? Have the fibroids shrunk away? How's your periods like now any difference?
I got ufe last week and started to recover until my period came a week early ugh! This is when it went downhill for me. Non stop bleeding, blood clots, severe pains, scared to go to the bathroom to pee because blood comes out first before the urine!

Hi, I am so glad that I found this support group. I am 48. Have 1 fibroid measuring 7cm diameter and few clusters. I was having very heavy periods every 28-33 days. I had my UFE 5 days ago. The initial 4 hrs was unbearable pain, but they administered pain medication through iv, had catheterization for urine. I was sent home the following day. I am advised to take Motrin 600g every 8 hours for 10 days, and the pain is managed with that. i have Tylenol with codeine also, but didn't need it. But yesterday it started bleeding, passing clots and heavy cramps. Cramps is bearable since I'm already taking Mortin. Is it normal? it's been only 18 days since my previous cycle. Is it a period or am I passing a dying fibroid tissues? I reached out to the interventional radiologist who performed the procedure. He prescribed tranexaminic acid. I'm still debating whether to take it or not. Anybody has similar experience?
