Ulcerative colitis bad flare up

Hi I am relatively new to discussions. i am a Diabetic and have been for over 10 years. Since then I have also been diagonosed with Ulcerative colitis, cervical Osteoarthritis, and recently Diverticulosis. I had a fusion and dystectomy on C5/C6 August 2014. Since the operation I have had such a bad flare up and I have trouble controlling it. I am now on steriods and hopefully this will take some control. And now I have been told I have high Potassium levels, not sure why this is, could this be because of infection? Someone please advise me, I really do not want anything more, enough is enough.

    Hi Jaccs

I was diagnosed with UC about 8/9 years ago. Currently having a flare. How are you getting on and how are your symptoms now? Did the steroids successfully dampen things down okay? Sounds like you have really been through it! I notice it's been over 2 weeks since you posted - hopefully you are on the up and feeling better than you did...

    Hi Carlacupcake

thanks for your reply. My symptoms are still the same, but I have an appointment now to see my specialist. The steriods haven't made a difference. So I am hoping they will give me something to keep my colitis at bay. Will let you know how my appointment goes, which is mid April....

      Hi Jaccs

That's good at least you have an app now and not too long to wait (I understand it feels an age when you are in pain and waiting for answers) Hopefully your symptoms will be under control very soon. Let me know how you get on x
