maybe scar tissue has formed around the nerve? (this happened to me). i think physio can help or as a last resort, a nerve release operation. if physio doesn't help and you are in the uk you could ask for a referral to the national orthopaedic hospital: peripheral  nerve unit - uk specialists in peripheral  nerve damage. https://www.rnoh.nhs.uk/our-services/peripheral-nerve-injury-unit

hi thanks this makes perfect sense so it wouldn't show up on the mri? if I put my finger on the scar and move it the pain gets worse. so how did you get yours fixed?

Ah i don't really know re:MRI ( I can't have an MRI as I ended up with metal rods in my arm). but nerves are so sensitive that quite subtle scarring, that doesn't show on an MRI, could maybe cause significant pain? your nerve runs up to your neck so that might be why you're getting pain up there too.

I'm having osteopathy currently but as I understand it, physio is the best place to treat these kinds of difficulties, so hopefully they can help

this sounds like it could be the reason I didn't get pain straight away was three months later when I was in the gym and had to quit because if the pain since then its spread to my shoulders and my neck so do you know of any tests that can show this ultrasound maybe the pain really gets to me as I can't sleep at night and get really stiff shoulders worse when I bend it

I'm not an expert! but i would hope the physio could make a reasonable assessment of you by looking at your symptoms and your history - have you had physio since the injury/onset of pain? sometimes they are v helpful. for more info you could try googling "cubital tunnel syndrome" which is similar (= trapped ulnar nerve)

I had the mri over a week ago and been referred back to the physio now so waiting for that I think I might have to go private as they probably won't do anything from here

yeah can be a bit of a wait on NHS. another option is you could ask to be referred to a pain clinic since you have persistent pain. but maybe see how you go with physio first

I have found that a elbow strap to keep it straight at night helps but I don't think it will fix the problem

hi sorry it's been a while my pain has got worse spread to my shoulders and neck and they keep seizing and now my other elbow is seizing having physio atm again and chiropractor and osteopath and doesn't cure it. did you have a operation to cure it in the end? as nhs won't do anymore so will have to pay for a release myself thanks Jason
