Ulnar Nerve Palsy

I have been diagnosed with Ulnar Nerve Palsy about 2 years back after overexerting myself in the gym. Back when I had the symptoms, I kinda thought that my arm's numbness was just a temporary thing and ignored it and continued to go to the gym until the numbness spread from my fingers all the way up to my elbows. That's when I consulted a medical professional who then gave me some nerve medication and asked me to stop going to the gym and do some physiotherapy instead. As the weeks passed, the numbness became a burning sensation and pain until it eventually subsided. I was told to rest until my arms felt fine and it has been almost 2 years since.

The problem now is that I still feel something near my elbow joint and I'm unable to sleep with my arms bent in the fetal position as I would wake up because of the numbness and pain. I have went back to the doctors a few times regarding this and their reply has always been the same, ' Just rest for a few months more '. So I was thinking if anyone encountered something like this and if there's anything else that I could do to fully recover or is this more of a permanent thing now.
