Umbilical hernia

Hi,

I was rushed into hospital in June with what was diagnosed as an 'umblical l hernia. IO was then promised an 'urgent' operation.

This has still not happened. Despite being given an urgent date, the op was cancelled awaiting results of a 'lung function' test. I now learn that the results could be 9 months away!! I fly out to Australia in late Novenmebr and am feeling very uncertain and depressed about my prospects of seeing my granddaughters.

Just how urgent are these ops?

Thank you

J

hi J. I have also had problems with an umbilical hernia and have had two separate operations. In between seeing my gp and having the operation, it was between 6 and 9 months respectively.

Of course it all depends on how bad the hernia is and how the waiting list is in your area. I imagine it will take a good few weeks to recover enough to transport your suitcases etc.

I wish you all the best with it. James.
