Unanticipated side effect of injury

Anyone else experiencing/experienced horrible nightmares about their injury? I'm almost a month out from injury and just about every night I'm having awful dreams about falling again. I'm waking up drenched in sweat and then lie awake for hours.

Of all the things that have happened with this injury I was NOT expecting sleeping to be such a challenge.

My family laughs sometimes because my injury was in 2016. I fell. Believe it or not it was in my living room tripping over my darn slippers that were on my FEET! I couldn't catch myself and I spiraled like a cork screw down to the floor. And the nightmare has continiued for me til this day! I have NOT bought or worn a pair of slippers since! I've had nightmares and fears and what ever else you can have over it. My feet have had surgeries and they still hurt every day.

Sounds silly, right? But its my silly. I own it and I can laugh now becuase it is funny that I won't wear slippers again, but my what ifs are to strong to get them back on again!

So yes, I think people think, dream and fear their injuries all the time.

    All the best to you!

Thank you so much. It's good to know I'm not alone. Lately it's not just the falling dreams but also dreams where my leg is getting stuck and I have to pull it, or getting squeezed by something.

Sigh...I hope these dreams pass, it's hard enough to sleep with my leg in a splint, but adding nightmares is just a cruel joke by the universe.
