Unbalanced...Don't feel normal anymore

For the past two months and a half I have been experiencing a lot of unbalance, dizziness and derealisation. It's almost hard to describe but what comes the closest to this is a floating sensation, a sensation of being pushed forwards/pulled backwards, a dropping/falling right into the ground sensation and it sometimes feel as if all rooms are tilted to the left. I especially feel these motions when I am still (sitting down, lying down etc) These symptoms come and go. Some days are bad while some days are better. My symptoms worsen in crowded places where I get dizzy and where there is excessive visual stimulation (action movies, lots of motion etc.) When I'm in crowded places, my heart starts to beat really fast and I feel myself getting very anxious. I also occasionally get dizzy from my own motion and feel like I'm in a dream majority of the time. Only being in car rides will I feel normal. To summarise it all, I don't feel normal and myself anymore. Feels like I have lost my mind sometimes.
This is extremely frustrating and depressing. It has been inducing some sort of anxiety in me because I am so afraid to leave the house or partake in social activities where people are involved. There has been a lot of changes to my lifestyle recently as in I'm avoiding places that I usually go to and I'm more inclined to stay in my bedroom where the dizziness/unbalanced-ness is minimal. It is stressing me out and I am really afraid I never recover.
I've been to the ENT who thinks it has got to do with inflammation of my nasal passage. I've gotten nasal sprays from my first visit but my symptoms didn't improve. They've worsened in fact. The ENT then suggested it could be 'vestibular neuritis'. Recently I've gotten betahistamine which worked on the first day I started them and now they just don't work. I have no idea what to do. I'm trying so hard not to give up but some days when things start to feel better, the next day they don't anymore. It's as if there is this constant tug-of-war between me and my sanity. I am so tired. I just want to get better and have my old life back.

I had the exact same symptoms but driving was worse for me. Look into mal-debarqment syndrom and see if those symptoms are the same. Most people feels better in the car with this. I'm still working on a diagnosis and I've had it since april. THey originally said it was from a viral cold ihad...other docs say no....very hard to diagnose these issues. But don't give up. Try a physio therapist yhat specializes in it. It's absolutly debilitating, amd I was lucky to be a stay at home mom otherwise I'd be fired from days needed off work. Stress is a huge factor too. I'm trying to work on mine. I only take those bentahistamine pills when I need. Do your research on pills being prescribed, because if a doc doest know what it is, they shouldn't be prescribing anything in my opinion. I've got a few things in my cupboard not even opened yet.....Super frustrating.

Have a doctor write you a prescription for vestibular therapy.
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) Evidence has shown that vestibular rehabilitation can be effective in improving symptoms related to many vestibular (inner ear/balance) disorders. 1,2. People with vestibular disorders often experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance
.
At least you will have a better idea of what you may be dealing with. GOOD LUCK. I can definitely relate to how this affects your daily life.
