Well I just lie there and toss and turn, and wait for the alarm to go off and then I do not want to get up! It is not that great! but I am not that panicy, but I do feel sort of impending doom, I dont shout at my daughter so much though!! but I am too tired to do anything else!!!! however I am taking them now on the doctors orders at circa 7.00pm so I am hoping that will maybe level it all out and I wont be so tired all the time.

A few things have helped with this side effect :
1. I sleep with an air conditioner on. This provides a hypnotic sound which helps me drift off.
2. I take 2 mg of Lorazapam (benzodiazapene) before bedtime. I have been taking this drug for years (as needed for insomnia and muscle relaxation due to a neurological disorder).
The bottom line is that if you are not sleeping you are basically damaging your brain. The anxiety is also exacerbated by the loss of sleep.
As I have just started the drug this week I am hoping that taking the Lorazapam will only be necessary temporarily until the Sertraline kicks in and makes sleep easier.

I have been on Sertaline for 2 weeks and the first week I did nothing but yawn! I have never been so tired in my life. Sleep patterns were disrupted too and I am a person who likes 8 hours sleep a night so that was a nightmare
The second week I went up to 100mg and that has stopped the yawning and incredible tiredness in the day. I am still tired but that is because of the tossing and turning all night. This is getting better though and I am generally sleeping through until 3 or 4 so as long as I go to bed early it is ok. Lavender oil on the pillow helps, as does chammomile tea and some relaxing visulisation/meditation before bed.
Good luck
