Under arm and nipple pain

Posted , 4 users are following.

I'm 38 and for the past yr I have a dull ache under my armpit and left breast. I had a mammogram and ultrasound in August and all was clear. Sometimes my breasts are really sore and my left nipple is suddenly getting sharp pains. I also suffer from neck pain caused by stress and my gp says i have inflamed nerves causing all this but I am panicking. Anyone has advice? I can't feel any lumps but I'm still worrying like mad.

Hi there, I know how you feel apart from in having other symptoms aswell. It ses when I'm due a period my left arm pit hurts, to press on it hurts to and it swells a little. I'm wondering if it's linked to hormones because I've been having this fir ages now on top of abdominal discomfort, headaches and pink blood/ brown at times. I'm seeing a specialist in a few weeks. I've had a probe camera and a smear and both are ok thankfully, but still unsure if what's causing it. It could be linked to hormones but not sure as yet, maybe have you thyroid looking into.

Ella and Hannah, please both of you stop worrying, I know it's hard not to , but lots of women get breast pain and swelling due to period hormones, I can give Jordan a run for her money the week before I come on! It's really normal. Also Hannah, get yourself checked for wheat and dairy intolerance as this can give you the symptoms that you describe.

hope all goes well for you both. Xx

I always got breast tenderness but now it's a sharp pain in one nipple. Just finished period so it's much better but still feel it once in a while. U think it's still related?

    Hi Ella,

i do think it's related, as all your scans have come back clear, I'm 41, and still get lumps and bumps that are different each period, it's a good sign that they go and you are in tune with what your breasts feel like, so if one doesn't go or feels really different, you know to go to the doctor.

hope this helps and puts your mind to rest.

    take care xx

Cld be yr hormones, I found a lump in my right breast just over a week ago now, and I was gettin pain in it as well.  I saw a specialist last Friday, had a mammogram etc, found out it was a cyst,  (my mam had breast cancer 5yrs ago) so u can understand why I was panicking, if yr still having problems go bk to yr go and tell them what's happening and tell them yr panicking,  u need to see someone else as you can't take any more, the specialist that I saw to.d me to keep an eye on it for 24 wks and if it didn't get any better to go bk and tell her, and she'd do something about it,  I'm 43 so cld b hormones.

    Hi,

It's me again. Still have the same pains and it's not cyclical. I think I am obsessing in my breaststroke. I still can't feel any lumps but I have one nipple where the areola is not round. I'm not sure if it was always this way but do you think I should panic??? Or is it normal for nipple to change ?
