Under arm/breast pain....Help!

For the last 5/6 months i have had a consistent ache under my arm pit. I also get a shooting pain across my breast. Sometimes my breast gets red and very itchy (i can only describe it looks like prickly heat). Has anyone got any ideas what this could be?

    I had a pain in my arm pit recently and it was aching. I then went to the doctors as I found a lump in my breast. They told me it was a cyst in my breast and the pain in my armpit was a swollen lymph node. The lymph node swells up when trying to fight off an infection. I would 100% recommend going straight to your GP as soon as possible as it is related to your breast as well.

    I agree with Davies, go and see yr doctor, that's the first port of call, and  the second DONT GOGGLE,  the don't goggle part was the best peice of advice that I was given.  And that was by a specialist in the medical field.  I found a lump and had all the tests and turned out to be cysts.  Good luck let us know how you get on .  Liz

    Hi nikka, Don't waste any more time wondering, go and get it checked out. I recently found a lump at the side of my right breast and went to the GP straight away. I am going to the breast clinic in a few days. I am hoping it is a cyst as they are very common. Your issue may be perfectly innocent so you will stop worrying but if it is more serious you need attention now. Do get checked sooner than later as you have already delayed for too long.

    Been to the doctor and had blood test so just have to wait for the results.

      That's good nikka, hope all goes well for you. I had a mammagram yesterday the consultant said the mammagram is fine and I have a small cyst. She also said I could have it removed but if it is no problem just leave it. I am not even aware of it until I feel for it so unless it becomes a problem I will forget about it.

    I went to the doctor and she only checked my armpit and said all was fine. I had some blood test and all come back ok.

    Im still getting the pain under my armpit and in my breast so thinking of going back and seeing another doctor.

    Been back to the doctor and now Waiting for a letter for an appointment to go to the breast clinic

    My advice is to phone yr breast clinic, and get put on their cancellation list. That's what I did and was seen in a few days.  And anything that you can do to get seen quicker the better. Thankfully with me the lumps that I found were cysts.  . Hopefully everything works out for you,  please let me know,  liz

    I hav recently had regular under arm pain. I do have cysts. I know it's not essential to drain them. However while my GP was examining me, t highlighted 1) the underarm pan may be a muscular issue. 

    However 2) that one breast was sensitive just under the nipple area. It has since been slightly painful, and uncomfortable. For many months too I have been glad to remove my bra once home. 

    What I don't get is why can't there be an easy way for us ladies to self refer back to or breast clinch in the UK and have ultrasound and fine needle cyst removal when we are experiencing discomfort?
