Underactive thyroid and allergies

I have been on 200 mg eltroxin per day from 23 years old until about 10 years ago when doctors lowered this to 125 per day. The affect was dramatic as lots of allergies came to the fore as well as depression and no energy etc.

It was lowered as my readings after blood test was showing high.

I have always had this happen from i was first diagnosed. Then the allergies stopped when on eltroxin and a number of years later new doctor came to town and decided to take people off their medication as he thought they were not all needing it.... I told him no as i couldnt take the problems but he promised me as soon as i had signs back on.... 3 days and i was a mess so no problems after that back on 200mg.

Now at age 71 on a dose of 150 mg per day and feeling no symptoms of over active thyroid yet my readings are high ie 32.....2 of the doctors at the surgery accept this is normal for me...while one feels i am in danger of causing damage. When i explained that on 200mg i felt great and would even accept going down to 175mg per day as i am still getting some allergic problems.... now angiodemia around the mouth and throat... not air ways.If i go below 150 mg i will get lots of other allergic symptoms.I did develop my fathers inherited cholestrol problem where i had to have a stent in RCA and while LCA was showing blockage not enough then to need stented.I have been on preventative treatment since which is proving to be working as now 10 years later i have no further need for a stent..This has nothing to do with thyroid in fact i am lucky as i am very fit used to run etc and now gym keep fit and swim each day so this has helped me reach 71 feeling good.

My paid is this push by 1 doctor to lower my thyroid doseage after blood test shows my reading high yet my cholestrol is around 3.5 and below 4.Do not have high bp although on bp tablet as part of preventative program.

I seem according to them to be inbetween underactive and overactive.... but i feel ok... sleeping well active and trying to lose weight which when i try takes hard work so definitely not overactive.

I do believe there is a link between thyroid and allergies and so now getting sent to Hospital for investigating for proper dose. I feel some doctors dont see or understand some of the readings.... also some tablets could be affecting this result.

I was misdiagnosed for 12 years due to the fact a nurse practitioner had found my thyroid hormone low and put me on levothyroxine and then when she checked it again it was showing normal but she was supposed to balance my thyroid this caused me many years of health problems I suffered with allergies for all those 12 years til in may 2018 a different nurse practitioner found my thyroid hormone low I was put on the medication levothyroxine and I had read a piece from a dr on line to take this medication at night till nothing could absorb it so that's wht I been doing and my test have come back near perfect and my allergies have subsided and I feel healthier than I did ....
