Understanding my HSV 1 & 2 results. Please help.

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi. I was just recently tested for HSV 1 & 2  by IgG, after 9 months of  possible exposure.  My results came back “<0.200”  for  both HSV 1 & 2 [Negative].  In range would be “<0.9” .  For more understanding and clarity...

My question(s) would be:

1. Is IgG testing accurate?

2. Did I wait a long enough period to get accurate results?

3. Is it normal to have the same index value for HSV 1 & 2?  As mine both read “<0.200”

4. Does my index value mean a low negative, as I’ve been researching and I’ve never seen “<0.200” as a result.

Also, to add on to my questions...

    Should I do a following up/back up/alternative testing?

I’m not very sexually active, as I’ve mentioned before, my last sexual encounter was 9 months ago. Any sexual activity before then were few, sparse but, nevertheless,  unprotected.
