Biopsy results: parietal cell hyperplasia noted in the stomach

Anyone know what the biopsy or egd results mean??

The parietal cells are those that produce the hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Hyperplasia means there are probably too many being generated.

This diagnosis would suggest acid hypersecretion - which may be Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. This requires treatment with proton pump inhibitors (eg omeprazole) to reduce the number of cells producing acid.
