Underwent Laser Bni - My experience
Posted , 6 users are following.
Underwent laser bni in Delhi, India. Ejaculation preserving technique. Surgery went fully smooth. However, the catheter is being a real pain. Sized 20, I can barely move. Hope I can at least get some relief for a while once the cath comes out. Will keep this thread updated.

Day 2
Catheter is being mighty annoying and my urethra is very itchy. Anyone knows what I can do in this case? If it doesn't go away by tomorrow, I will ring my doctor.
They will remove catheter on the 4th day. Hope I can pass the flow test. Also, hoping I dont have retro.

Day 3
Catheter removed. Flow test done. 12 Qmax. 6 Qavg. 250 voided volume. With my weak ass bladder, I wasn't expecting much. Glad the numbers are at least better than it was pre surgery.

Lensworld,
Hope you're feeling better. Sorry I didn't find your posting earlier than today. I recently had Greenlight Laser Therapy PVP on December 2, 2022.. I was allergic to the latex Foley catheter. Over a 3-day period, I developed deep red rash on my inner thighs. I can only imagine what my urethra looked like having been in constant contact with the material. I have been using Pyridium, a prescription for urethral pain. The thighs are better and hope the urethra gets better too. Hope you have success in your surgery. I have a poorly functional bladder and hoping that the GreenLight Laser will lower the resistance and help be void naturally to some extent. If not, catheterization may be easier. We'll see. It's too early to tell.

Day 4.
Having weird penile, urethral and perineal pain, especially during urination. Erection is also painful. Flow is significantly lower today. Hopefully, it is just temporary.
I know it is going to be a rollercoaster journey, but I just hope I don't develop a stricture.

Day 7
Erection bloody painful. Flow weaker but still better than pre surgery and penis still swollen. I feel blockage in my penis. As if a stricture is growing which I hope to god is not the case because that will require another procedure to fix. Hopefully, just a part of the recovery.

Day 10:
Penile head and the urethra right behind it is swollen and I can feel this is blocking my urine flow. I hope it is just a temporary urethritis and not stricture. Stricture doesn't develop this early as well. So, I am hopeful. Did urine routine and culture test. Result will come on 1st December.
Frequency is pretty bad too. Going to loo twice every hour and voiding only 60-70 ml.

Day 16: Swelling has gone down. Flow has improved but not yet exactly how it was immediately after catheter removal. My urethra is occasionally itchy and I can still feel blockage in my urethra. Hopefully, it is a temporary/mild one. Not severe. I will check for ejaculation 2 weeks later.

Are you reporting Holep or Greenlight Laser Treatment?

Bladder neck incision.
Day 21: I masturbated yesterday. Erection was pretty painful, however, I DON'T HAVE RETRO. WOOOOO. Lots of burning when I ejaculated, but it slowly went away. Flow even slower now, but still much better than presurgery.

Hi lensworld,
how are you now ? i am waiting for an BNI too. i have gone through urodynamics and result suggested weak bladder contraction and bladder outlet obstruction. My symptoms are frequent utination , nocturia x 2 times minimum, feeling of needing to pee all the time, feeling of burning around urethra and penis tip. Did you have these symptoms prior to surgery?

Day 60: Total rollercoaster. I still have hesitancy but flow is still okayish. I see flow gets better after I masturbate which is surprising.

hi, please update your recovery so far. I will be having BNI in few days.

I have developed small stricture in my urethra which I have to dilate every week. Flow is still okayish. Not bad, but not as good as I though it would be. My BNI was very superficial. That could be the reason why I didn't see a major improvement in flowrate. My ejaculation is completely unchanged.

8 months now. Flow rate after surgery was 13 Qmax. Now, it is 9 Qmax. PVR is 0 though. My bladder is underactive. Also, my stricture is causing issues now. I hope I won't go for Urethroplasty now.
