Undiagnosed abdominal pain

Hi

Not sure what's going on. I use to get severe pain in the gallbladder region urq. Specifically an inch below right ribs and a a depth into abdomen about an inch also.

Now I'm just getting an ache in the muscles in that area, sometimes it feels like it's even in the skin or fat layer.

For years I've heard gallbladder from doctors, recently doctors have mentioned IbS more but are happy to say we just don't know...grrrrrr!

It seems to shallow for either.

The pain use to be a 10, were I acctually have been to A&E, now it's more of a day to day discomfort, but I am aware of it and it's not knowing what the he'll it is that's driving me nuts.

Could it be something wrong with the abdomen wall etc.

All my blood tests are normal except cholesterol which is slightly elevated 5.5 and I feel very healthy.

Has anyone been on this journey with undiagnosed pain discomfort and had an answer that fits.

Any light shed on location or diagnosis that your sure is correct would really help.

Cheers

Chris

I think you should go to have an ultrasound or a colonoscopy or endoscopy. Ask your dr so that he can refer you. I have pain under my rib left sometimes right and accompany with bouts of diarrhear so i think better check with doctor. Good luck

I'm definitely not an expert. Been trying to find out what was causing the pain in my abdomen for 1 1/2 years. Had an endoscopy 3 weeks ago. Not the first though. Nothing has ever shown up in blood test. But this time a small area of inflamation where te esougaus , spell check isn't working , meets the stomach showed up. The gastroenterologist said nothing to worry about and put me on acid inhibitors. My GP , today though said that was crap. Said it could develop into an ulcer down the road. And since I've had so much pain and some nausea , he would like me to start treatment for h pylori . So , I guess that's what I'll do. ?? Don't know if it's the right thing to do but I'm tired of hurting . Anyway , he said h pylori doesn't always show up in blood test in the early stages. So that's my story. Don't know if it applies to you but , there it is. Good luck. I'm ready to try anything.

Has you doctor refer you to ultrasound for abdomen, gall bladder or liver or kidney or pancrea? I had it done but everything is fine. I have cramps and diarhear. I thought it was IBS but now the specialist found I have Crohn. Still struggle to take medication for it.

Yes , yes and yes. I had each test and the came out normal. I also have a low B-12 . My doctor showed me an article that sad H Pilori effectively reduces the amount of B-12 the stomach can produce. Like I said , I'm gonna take the treatment. No one else has come up with anything. But I know somethings wrong and that's about all I have to go on.tired of test now. Just about ready to call it quits until today.

I had my gallbladder removed due to the pain you are describing however, I still get the pain every day, sometimes worse than other, and I'm also the same as doctors don't have any answers, that is the most frustrating part isn't it .

Ok. After 1 1/2 years of pain and neausea o received an official diagnosis of H Pylori today. Showed up in the sample from the endoscopy. Start the treatments tomorrow. Doc said it may take a while for the pain to subside but after the bacteria is gone it will start healing. Can't believe the insurance companies won't cover the blister packs though. The pharmacist said if I get my GP to write a prescription for each separate medicine they will cover it though. The pharmacist said she had read an article where insurance companies and pharmaceuticals came up with a way to make more money off the meds. Insurance companies agreed not to cover the blister packs since so many people have H Pylori. Greed make this country go round , I guess. Medicare is in on it too. They don't cover it. $300 for the yreatment.
