Unexplained Neck/Back Issues

I'm trying to help my friend, she's been having problems sleeping due to her issues, and I'm concerned for her. So the symptoms are, pain that originates from the upper back, it shoots up her next and effects her right arm. I was also doing a massage on her, and found that about the middle section of her spine, closer to her neck, on the right, if I pressed she flinched, as it caused alot of pain, she informed me it is were she was punched, quite hard in the back. She says that when lying down, it feels sore and its very uncomfortable in-between the shoulder blade area. Pain killers do the job but only for a little while, the pain often returns and cause her to wake up in the middle of the night. Please, any suggestions or info, I really want to help her sort this. Thank you

I think a chiropractor or massage therapist or physical therapist would be able to help her. Either something is causing pressure in her upper vertebrae, her occipital nerve is tight or there is a bundle of nerves below the neck that I cannot rememember the technical term for (starts wtih a b) is aggravated. I have had all three of those and that has been a symptom in each case. It's nothing life threatening but it isn't going to fix itself on it's own, she should get assessed.

    Hi Trash-PandaCoco

    (Great Name)

Your friend definately needs to see her doctor, but it does sound like it could be nerve related.

Best of luck and let me know what the end result is.

    Best regards.

Haha, thanks. Yes, she has been seeing doctors, but they haven't diagnosed her or actually found anything, hence her decision to see an osteopath. But I will. I do agree that the problem, due to where the pain is spreading too. Thank you

      Hi Trash-PandaCoco

      Hi there.

Just to let you know that this is probably going to be one of those problems that could take a bit of time to correctly identify.

If your friend is not happy with what is going on, get your friend to ask for a second apinonn or even a 3rd one.

      Best of luck
