Unexplained weight loss, fatigue, and weird pains

Hello,

I am a 17 year old boy and have a few unexplained and worrying symptoms.

In the last four months I have lost 14kg (30ib) with no explanation. I have always been tall and skinny, and never intended to lose any weight. I have had no loss in appetite, however, and if there has been any change in my diet it is only that i have been eating more.

I also have bad fatigue, I have had this for a few year now, since I was diagnosed with depression. I have in the past been on anti depressants but i stopped them about a year ago. I can't focus at school an often fall asleep in class which has obviously negatively affected my grades.

and finally, i have been getting weird pains for the last couple of months. most of these have been around the right side of my chest, around my rib cage and hips, and around my stomach/lower torso area, today however, i have felt like my whole inside is burning, a different pain. the ones i have had for a while have been sharp stabbing pains. this is highly uncomfortable and worrying.

any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot

My advice would be too go and see your GP with all your symptoms and no diagnosis their will not be any one on here who will be able to give you a reason for all that's going on, it could all be anxiety related but till your examined you want know, come back after you have been too see someone

OK, thanks very much. I have booked an appointment and will let you know how it goes smile

I have also changed my diet to slightly more healthy options which i was told could help with the pains..

      Thanks a lot

That's a good move, if you're diet is leaning towards unhealthy foods then it could very easily be a symptom of acid reflux but better to know for definite, hope your appointment is scheduled for soon so you can start to focus on feeling better.

Hi! Hope you find answer to your problems soon.I recommend asking to see a GI doctors.

    Do you mind answering so?

Do you consider to be underweight all your life? clumsy, do you feel full too quick?

      Hi,

sorry about the late reply, i have been away for a while and havent been able to reply, however i did see your post.

i havent been underweight as i have always been tall for my age, however i have always been skinny. I am assuming as a result of an eating disorder when i was very young. weight gain when it was happening was very slow.

i havent lost any more weight in the past few weeks, it has just been sitting around the same place.

i never ever feel full quick. i eat so much, which is what made the weight loss all the more scary, i was eating so much and the weight just kept falling off.

i have tried getting into the GP and have an appointment booked, however it isnt for another week and a bit. i will try let you know how this goes as soon as i can.

      Hi @AlexandriaGizmo,

sorry, i have been away, hence the late reply. but i definitely havent stopped thinking about this problem, it just took me a while to bring myself to tell my parents which delayed being able to get an appointment.

      Thanks,

      Beauden

You have to consult a doctor. Try to avoid junk food. Take proper rest and do some yoga. Eat healthy diet.

    Hello

As you have mentioned that you were using anti-depressant but left a year ago, however, do not forget that the side effects of the medicines are always there. Chemical-based medicines might show delayed reaction on the body depending up the immune system. I would rather suggest you try some natural weight loss supplement.
