Unread messages

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have mentioned several times that once I have read my messages they disappear. That still occurs. In order to solve this I attempted to delete all of the issues that were not PMR. I thought that if I got rid of them then there would be space for the PMR messages.None of those messages disappeared when clicking on the "delete all messages".

    Hi Peggy,

Do you mean on your notifications page here https://patient.info/forums/me/notifications?

If so I have explained how this works. There is not a "Delete all messages" link as you cannot delete any notifications. As per previous posts, if you read a post either from following a link in an email or clicking a link on the notifications page the notification will be moved to below the unread messages as a "Read" message whether you manually marked it as read or not. Clicking the link marks it as read.

If you look at this image (click on it to enlarge) from my notification page on a test site the top 5 notifications are from months ago and are unread. The posts below them are from yesterday and are in the "Read" status, ie no tick box/highlighting.

If you want to make all of your notifications read then click the "Mark all as read" button then click "Ok" in the confirmation message that pops up. As I said before you may have to do this more than once if you have a lot of unread notifications or after clicking the button refresh the page by holding the Ctrl button and pressing the F5 button. I'll report this as a bug, ie they sometimes don't all change state immediately. Once the posts are Marked as read then the list will be the most recent notifications at the top of the list as per this image from my notifications page on live site. Note the Mark as read and Mark all as read buttons have gone as all posts have been read.

If you want to stop receiving notifications from non PMR groups then you need to leave the other groups you are a member of. At the moment you are in 8 groups. You can leave the ones you don't want notifications from by going to this page https://patient.info/forums/me/groups and clicking the "Leave" button next to the groups you don't want to get notifications from.

I hope this helps but let me know if it is not clear or you need any other info.

    Regards,

    Alan
