Unsteadiness for over four months after a flight.

Hello to anyone who happens to come across this post. As the title says, I have been dealing with what I would call and unsteady or "bouncy" feeling for the last 4 months, all of which began after a four hour flight from Mexico.

Let me quickly begin by saying that I'm a 23 year old male who has been relatively healthy throughout the years (no serious sickness outside of a moderate anxiety problem, so this longterm vertigo problem is something very new to me.

The problems began the first day my family and I flew to Mexico. On the flight, I came down with a pretty bad cold that lingered most of the trip ( sore throat, allergies, and coughing,) which was really unfortunate. Eventually, our short 3 day trip came to an end, and it was time to head back home. Luckily for me, though, the cold had finally come to an end, so I figured things were looking up. We arrived home fine pretty late at night, so I went to bed right when I got home, with no hint of any dizziness or any sick feelings, for that matter.

It's when I woke up in the morning that I began feeling the "bouncing" feeling, similar to the feeling some get when ride in elavators. Basically, anytime I would walk, I would get this dizzy feeling that was very, very noticeable and unbelievably annoying. Along with that, I had some brain fog that made concentrating on things pretty tough. So, assuming that my brain was just going to recompensate, I just kind of left it alone and lived with the unsteadiness for a few months. Eventually, I couldn't handle it anymore and went to my PCP, who said that the problem was just ear wax. Lo and behold, having the earwax taken care of didn't do anything, so he referred me to an ENT. Long story short, the ENT did a VNG test, which determined that I had a 30% weakness in my right ear. He then diagnosed me with Vestibular Neuritis and said that the problem should resolve itself.

So here I am today, a few months after seeing an ENT. And while the unsteady feeling isn't near as bad as when it first started, and luckily for me, it isn't always constantly there, I can still notice it every single day (some days are better than others).

I have noticed a couple symptoms that could be important over the last few months, though.

1. My right ear pops a ton. Also, nearly every morning I wake up it is very pressured.

2, I always have mucus in my throat. I've tried sudafed and mucinex, which have done nothing. Couldn't this be important to my eustachian tubes having fluid in them?

3. Not a symptom, but the vertigo has always been much worse when indoors. If i'm outside, it just doesn't seem as noticeable.

So here I am today, unsure of the issues going on in my head. At this point, I honestly don't know what to do. I've debated trying to get an MRI done to atleast rule out anything serious and put my anxiety at easy, but they are so expensive.

Sorry for the long post, but does anyone have any ideas or opinions on what I should do?

Sounds exactly like "mal de débarquement". This French expression is used all over the world. It means "disembarkment sickness". Google it. The VEDA site gives a lot of information. I got it myself nearly 50 years ago after a 25-hour flight to Hong Kong. Same symptoms as yours, but only lasted a few weeks/months (can't remember exactly how long now). I was an army nurse at the time, so no chance of any medical treatment, just had to work through it!
