Has anyone with Fibro find it difficult to remain steady? I had a stroke 2014 and now I find it hard to keep my balance, is this happening to anyone else?

Hi trisha87499 I have had balance problems since having fibro, Ive had fibro for over 10 years, and am still having balance problems. I had a stroke last nov when we are un well with something else fibro ive found tends to make things 10x worse.Balance issues are part of fibro unfortunatly for us.

Thanks kaz, sometimes it helps to know that it could be another symptom and nothing else to go to doctors again x thanks

Hi Trisha, unfortunately balance problems do seem to be a common added difficulty of fibro. I've been diagnosed approx 3yrs but had problems for about 7yrs. My balance is shocking and having other health problems that also affect my balance certainly doesn't help. I wish I could be more optimistic for you but at least you know you're not imagining things.

Good luck with it all xx

I know that is the thing, I'd had a stroke last year and was thinking all sorts, so thank you Lisa, somehow it makes you feel a bit better knowing its another symptom lol! Could be worse

Hi Trisha, your right it could be worse haha. Trouble is I no longer say it because it often does get worse. Seriously though I'm glad it stops you worrying. Quite often when I have a wobble I just blame the drugs. It makes me chuckle when I get weird looks from people, I have a very dark sense of humour and there has to be an upside to the rubbish we live with. 😳😅

I know lol, you hear people on the bus saying oh I've got the cold and it's so bad, I might not be able to go out tonight! Sometimes I feel like saying politely "why don't you get a life witch" one of these days lol

Such hard lives people lead. I heard a woman in her 30s say today how I'll and tired she felt. I looked at her and thought you poor thing as she did look a little frayed around the edges. The next thing I heard was she was maybe getting to old for going on a bender. Thursday evening until about 5 this morning.

I think I may of offended her when I said ' lucky you. I can only dream that if I got enough sleep, ridiculous given I've been in bed for 3 days with utter exhaustion.' All this whilst having to use my wheelchair.

I'm not bitter but I think when we can't do something it makes us realise how much people complain about trivial stuff. Especially when it's about a hangover from a bender 😡

I totally agree, I am so fed up with people saying to me "oh you look tired, are you ok" I must get that at least 3 times a day, and that's me on my good days. Social life 'what's that'? I try and keep upbeat but my goodness it's getting harder x

IT is difficult to stay upbeat especially when people say " you're looking well/good" They are usually the times when you're feeling terrible. There's a very good reason why fibro is known as an invisible illness. Unfortunately I have 4 invisible conditions and unless I'm forced to use my splints, brace or wheelchair it is impossible to tell that I have anything wrong.

Heres the thing, you do have to develop a thick skin but also educate the people around you. Above all whenever you need to vent or ask questions as you did today, there will always be so one on here who can help or simply 'listen'. I know I would have been lost if not for the amazing people on here and I've learned so much too. Your welcome to stay in touch with me if you want to private message me but that's entirely up to you.

In the meantime you just have to learn to be kind to yourself and find the fine art of pacing yourself.

Thanks again, sometimes my life is so happy especially when my grandson comes to visit, there's no prejudice or pity I'm just his granny, and for that time he's here, it is when I forget all my illnesses, and he makes me laugh so much, honestly he is a little character who gets me to play ring a ring a roses, hiding seek, and that is worth all those other days when I can't get out of bed lol let me know how to private message you, just in case we need to! I'm very technology challenged x

Hi trisha87499 To private message press on the grey envelope inder the star3. Fibro is a tough condition to live with its very challenging. How I try to cope with it and my other illnesses is to focus on other things. like Im redesigning my sons bedroom and my living ring. I try to focus on other things, sometimes it doesnt work depends on how fibro is and my other illnessess. treating ourselves I find helps too whether its a new hair style perfume jewellery clothes. We all need pick me ups having your grandson to focus on may help you. Even reading watching tele dvd try to focus on other things. also stress worry dont help our condition trying to keep those 2 down helps pain wise. Hope youve had a lovely easter hope fibro is kind to you this week and you have a good week take care
