Unsure

I have been briefly told I have severe wear and tear to my spine , bulging discs in lower spine which is causing nerve impingement. I go for full MRI report on Wednesday . The last few mornings though i have woken with urine soaked pants , is this something i should be concerned about . Im confused as during the day im fine no problems ? Should i wait till wednesday to mention it?

If this is a change in bladder habits you need to be seen ASAP. Are you having numbness in the area that would touch the saddle if you were on horseback? Red flags of Cauda Equina!

Chirolli , No there is no numbness just this slight incontinence. Wouldnt the MRI show Cauda equina ... Im so unsure what to do I mean its not loss of control completely .

      Lizzylong,

I have Cauda Equina Syndrome. I do not have complete loss of control either. What you describe is overflow incontinence. You need to let your Dr know ASAP. Don't wait. And pay attention to any other symptoms as they can come on gradually and be subtle. They can tell if you have it by looking at the MRI but not absolutely. They look at your symptoms too. Best wishes!

Earlier is better than later and you must advocate for yourself and not let any provider blow you off...like they did me!

Thanks  I called nhs 24  and the nurse said as I wasn't flooding the bed or being incontinent during the day I was to use a Tena Lady tonight and see my Mention it to my Doc but she didn't think it was an emergency situation!

Well. Document that conversation just in case. Urinary retention can be subtle. If you are urinating more frequently and having loss of force of stream so it dribbles, waking in the night or having night time incontinence, which is what I had and now I am cathing and retraining my bladder and praying the nerves heal.
